CMAC and MHP Group host a series of webinars about Access to Medicines

CMAC and the MHP Group created a series of three webinars for patient organisations to help them understand the policies and processes that affect access to medicines and build their capacity to engage with decision-makers and support patient-centric outcomes.

The webinars are open to all charities with an interest in access to medicines. There is no cost, and charities are welcome to attend whether or not they are members of CMAC.

The first webinar took place on Tuesday, 5 May. It includes an overview of access to medicines in the UK and an introduction to NICE’s methodology for assessing medicines.

The second webinar took place on Thursday, 28th May. The objective of this webinar is to help charities and patient organisations better understand how NICE values severity and quality of life.

The third webinar took place on Wednesday, 1st July. The objective of this webinar is to help charities and patient organisations better understand what happens after a treatment is approved by NICE and to know more about why and when access could be delayed.

AstraZeneca, Daiichi Sankyo, Gilead, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Novartis and Sanofi have kindly provided sponsorship towards the project, and have had no involvement in its creation or organisation.
